Hawes and Curtis Linen Suit – Championing Lightweight Summer Fabrics.
Summer is in full swing and with socialising back on the agenda it’s important to stay cool whilst looking stylish. With recent temperatures setting new records we spoke to Hawes and Curtis about their linen suit collection.
It’s paramount to ensure us gents are sartorially set for the warmer weather. With one simple wardrobe addition it’s easy to effortlessly style a number of looks using linen as a lightweight summer fabric.
Hawes and Curtis Linen Suit – Double breasted blazer
The double breasted suit jacket is an underutilised piece in modern day wardrobes.
Although previously synonymous with a more formal heritage, the double breasted piece has evolved and therefore boasts an impressive array of dress up or dress down offerings.
Perfect for summer social outings, Hawes and Curtis’ double breasted linen jacket can be paired with a simple shirt along with a sharp pair of shoes. Personally, this look is my pick for summer occasions. Stylish and above all, keeping cool.
The breath-ability of linen as a suit fabric is second to none. A lower thread count allows comfort and practicality on top of an aesthetically brilliant suit. Coupled with elegant double vents, the double breasted linen suit excels in warm weather settings.
Hawes and Curtis Linen Suit – Pleated trousers
The pleated trouser is enjoying somewhat of a renaissance at the moment. Lending itself well to formal and relaxed looks, it’s flexibility and sophistication makes it an ideal wardrobe staple.
Styling trousers can be difficult at times. Although people can experiment with different fits, there’s no sophisticated way to add any kind of differential to a significant part of your outfit.
Hawes and Curtis’ pleated suit trousers suitably solve this issue. Styled here in a more relaxed setting, I was able to pair the trousers with a tucked in tee for a smart/casual approach.
Pleated trousers by design tend to offer more material just below the waist therefore offering more range of movement. To create an optimised silhouette, I tend to wear the trousers higher than normal and of course I want to show off the smart waist adjusters.
