La Vie en Rose Wine Case with Northern Wine & Beer Co.
With more and more consumers drinking on the pink side of wine, the Northern Wine & Beer Co has launched a new La Vie en Rose Mediterranean wine case featuring five sublime rosé wines usually found in top restaurants.
The new Edith Piaf inspired case is priced at £60 including delivery and showcases one Rosé from France, Spain and Italy, plus a Rosé Prosecco and a DO Penedes sparkling Rosé.
The Northern Wine & Beer Co searches out drink producers with passion, flair, a touch of humour and those that celebrate and protect the native regions they call home. Over 90 per cent of the NWBC portfolio is suitable for vegans with plenty of organic and bio-dynamic wines also on offer.
The new La Vie en Rose (life in pink) wine case is available from Northern Wine & Beer and includes the following roaring rosé wines:
Campo del Passo Rosé Prosecco – Veneto, Italy – ABV 11%
Campo del Passo Spumante Extra Dry DOC is a superb value, extremely versatile sparkling wine for any occasion. The Glera (85%) & Pinot Noir (15%) grapes are picked from hills around the Valdobbiadene area of moraine, where the soil is mostly limestone and marl. Soft pink with an intense brightness. Fine and persistent bubbles, it’s a delicate, floral and fruity sparkling!
Bardolino Chiaretto Rosé – Soave, Italy – ABV 12%
From Veneto, Casa Vinicola Bennati is an old established house founded in 1920 by Annibale Bennati, in the area of Cazzano di Tramigna, just a few kilometres from Soave. Annibale was the son of the famous Antonio, or ‘Toni Recioto’ as he was called in honour of the raisin wine of that name. This Chiaretto is a dry and crisp rosé wine made from red wine grapes using white winemaking practices. By limiting the juice’s exposure to the grapes’ skins, where the pigment is found, the colour of Chiaretto stays pale. A light-medium bodied wine that’s cherry-red rosé in colour. Flavours and aromas of peach and blossom with a crisp, dry finish.
Barahonda Organic Rosado – Yecla, Spain – ABV 13.5%
Barahonda rosé is a blend of organically grown Monastrell and Syrah grapes. The winery makes balanced and expressive wines full of colour, flavour and complexity which have their own personality. Pale rose in colour, clear and brilliant with floral aromas and red fruit notes, fresh with crisp acidity and good length. Rich and intense sweet mouth, good volume and intensity.
Loxarel 999 – Penedes, Spain – ABV 12.5%
A vintage ‘Brut Nature’ Reserva made from Xarel-lo and Pinot Noir with zero dosage. It’s biodynamic, organic and vegan. Masia Can Mayol is one of a number of producers who no longer apply the description Cava to their sparkling wines. They are now labelled as ‘Methode Traditionnelle’ and ‘DO Penedès’; a decision based on the desire to guarantee quality. Cava is a ‘production’ DO administered in Madrid, not a regional one. Light pink in colour and taste; raspberry and other red fruits are integrated into both aroma and palate without dominating. The finish is noticeably dry.
H&B – Côtes de Provence Rosé – France – ABV 12.5%
A delightful pale pink rosé with expressive floral notes backed by fennel and anise. It offers immense charm and minerality on the finish. The glass stopper makes for an innovative and faultless closure. Grapes for H&B’s rosé are selected from the cooler parts of the upper Provence vineyards. The higher altitudes also allow a full maturity without excessive sugar, therefore lower in alcohol content. These grapes along with others from the limestone foothills that add some mineralogy and Cinsault, from vineyards close to the Mediterranean Sea, brings a subtle, salty and anise expression.
Vines are harvested at night between 3.00am and 9.00am in order to avoid oxidation and to preserve all of the fresh characteristics of the terroir and varietal. Grenache and Syrah are macerated together so that their personalities and qualities intermingle.
