Luxury Men’s Skincare Blogger Mister Wharff

We sit down with Luxury Men’s Skincare Blogger Mister Wharff to find out more about misterwharff.com and his passion for men’s skincare and beauty.

First of all, to kick things off, when did you first get into blogging and why?

I first started writing back in 2014 when I stumbled upon a blog called MANFACE by Thom Watson that offered skincare tips and product recommendations. Soon after, I started getting really into skincare, learning how skincare ingredients work gave me a buzz. Seeing a positive reaction skincare made to my appearance and self-esteem, I decided to create my very own blog. If it wasn’t for MANFACE, I wouldn’t be here discussing my passion for skincare. Thank you, Thom.

You predominantly focus on skincare, fragrance and beauty. Do you have a favourite of the three that you prefer to cover?

Skincare will always be a hot-off-the-press topic of mine, and I’m not planning on changing that anytime soon (but do expect an input of health + wellbeing in the coming months!).

You’ve worked with some big names in the industry, most notably Gillette. Do you have a dream collaboration in mind for the future? If so, do you mind revealing who that might be?

Now that would be telling! I would love to create my very own skincare product in support with a brand that I truly believe in and love. I have so many ideas written down on paper that I feel would make a sell-out product (well, that’s just wishful thinking!).

You’re stuck on a desert island, what three men’s grooming essentials would you choose to accompany you?

This is a tricky one! My go-to cleanser would be the SKN-RG Diamond Blue Cleanser, a recent finding of mine that I’m currently hooked on. Botanical-based, this enzymatic, hyaluronic gel gently but effectively cleanses leaving my skin feeling like pure velvet and looking luminous from within! The special Blue Diamond Plankton extract entraps pollutants + releases from the skin during the cleansing process. A definite must-have for the modern man!

For all-day protection, I’m going to need a multi-purpose product to keep skin in top form. The ARK Skin Protector SPF30 Primer will not only defend the skin against those damaging UV rays, but it will also moisturise the skin with bio-actives from Jojoba, Mimosa and Sunflower oils. Best of yet, it feels completely weightless!

Confession time! I have a bugbear for long nails, so I would have to bring my trusty Tweezerman nail clippers with me during my long-stay on a (hopefully pleasant) desert island with exotic-looking palm trees and a handsome cocktail waiter on standby (in my dreams John!)

With the Spring-Summer season upon us, what’s your number one skincare tip for the warmer weather?

If you successfully perform this tip, it would make your skin a whole lot happier! Thoroughly cleanse the skin for at least 20 seconds, no less. Your cleanser needs time to work, that’s a fact, there’s no point massaging for 5 seconds and expect amazing skin. You could also leave the product on for 2-3 minutes to further enhance the cleansers performance.

Finally, where do you see yourself and the industry in a years’ time?

I have always taken each day as it comes as you never know what the next day will bring. I have been very fortunate to work with a broad spectrum of brands across the globe. And although this may appear as lucky, I mainly put my success down to 3 things; motivation, hard-work and my passion for writing. For me, the future is looking positive, I’m constantly working and creating content that I know my readership will love and share.

Years’ to come, blog sites will still thrive and remain the main destination for juicy content. They offer so much credibility and realism to the potential reader, after all, that’s how I started. Apps such as Instagram and TikTok have their place, but the content is only short-lasting, however, you should never underestimate the powers of social media.
