No. 1 Palace Street, London, is a residential dream located next to one of the most historically treasured buildings in the United Kingdom, Buckingham Palace. On a magnificent island site beside St James’s Park, the No. 1 Palace Street development, comprised of 72 extraordinary apartments, sets a new standard of exquisite luxury living.
Courtesy of the ultra-prime property developer Northacre, JLL and Clifton Property Partners (jointly instructed real estate agents for No. 1 Palace Street, SW1E 6HE ) we were allowed to explore – well tour – the spectacular site a couple of weeks ago to get an idea of the sheer size, craftsmanship and magnificence of the luxury development.
Uniquely, each of the façades at No. 1 Palace Street has taken their inspiration from the architectural vernacular of various periods of history: Italian Renaissance, Beaux Arts, French Renaissance, Queen Anne and Contemporary.
Suited and booted in hard hats and goggles we began our tour in what is becoming the Buckingham Gate, Italian Renaissance sector of the private residences. The Grade ll listed building still holds beautiful original features from 1860 when it initially existed as The Palace Hotel – one of the first substantial five-star establishments. Characteristics include the grand staircase adorned in fine steal work, and detailed ceilings of the entrance.
Everything about No. 1 Palace Street is superlative, including the ceiling heights which measure up to five metres in selected apartments. The architects and designers have ensured that the design is consistent with the individual building’s heritage and the exterior of the building translates into the interior in a seamless way. Northacre is sourcing the best Statuario marble by travelling to Carrara in Italy, the timber is from Turin and the prestigious bespoke Obumex kitchens are from Belgium. Complementary fixtures and fittings such as copper, bronze or brushed steel are amongst other specifications.
In the exclusive spa and wellness area the 20m indoor swimming pool is beginning to take shape. A life jacket sat by the edge of the pool – an exciting sign that the meticulous work involved in this desirable development is really moving forward.
Into the astounding apartments themselves, and you could really envisage how the building site would soon transform into what the talented team have designed. Stunning, spiral, stone staircases, cast in the apartments themselves by skilled craftsmen are a main feature to the multi-story, designer dwellings and almost a piece of art in themselves. Each living quarter is individually designed with unique layouts. Even in the construction stage, you could really start to see the elite elements of each apartment.
Our visit concluded by taking in the break taking views from the upper level of the beautiful building. With the London Eye in one direction, and the palace practically in reach in the other, one really did have to pinch themselves when even experiencing for a second the breath-taking surroundings – morning coffee with such sites adorning the window would be absolutely idyllic!
We cannot wait to see the remarkable residence once work is completed – watch this space for further updates on No. 1 Palace Street, or visit Northacre for additional information on previewing the properties for potential purchases in the meantime.
