As many made in England shoemaker’s are, Loake are based in Northamptonshire and are a British shoemaking stalwart.
The British shoemakers were originally founded by brothers William and Thomas in 1880 and the same family still run the business to this day. Loake’s premium Goodyear-welted footwear are produced in the very same factory that the brothers constructed in Kettering back in 1894.
In 2007, Loake was bestowed with a royal warrant by appointment to HM the Queen as a manufacturer of men’s shoes. A true mark of distinction and British excellence.

Nowadays, devotees include much of the style-set; however, the brand is far too discrete to disclose the names of its high-end clientele.

Crockett & Jones’ success, as with most Northamption based shoemakers, benefited hugely from the factory’s geographical location in Northampton – a town situated on the country’s main trading routes through to London.

Family owned throughout their distinguished history, Crockett & Jones was founded in 1879 and occupying their long serving factory they have retained a loyal talented core staff of specialised shoe making experts.
Things were not always plain sailing for the authoritative English shoe specialists. In 1977, the brand were close to closure and required the knowledge of Mr jonathan Jones to turn around their fortunes. Mr Jones turned around what he describes as a pre-war mentality and embraced what the brand’s expertise. Turning attention to become a specialist Goodyear welt meant Crockett & Jones were able to cement their position within the English shoe market and provide the world with what they do best.
