FARFETCH Bags – The Document Case

Dolce & Gabbana flap document holder, £825

For those important meetings and interviews where first impressions matter, this document case would not only do the job of filing together essential paperwork but also oozes sophistication and class. When meeting both new and old faces I am a firm believer in keeping up appearances and this D&G bag is the ideal accessory to do just that- the minimalist design subtly shows just how serious it’s owner is about style. The metal clasp finely engraved with the lettering of one of fashion’s most famous designers proves that discretion is sometimes better – while its sleek shape does exactly what it needs to do. This is a bag that will never go out of fashion and will never stop serving a purpose. For those reasons, I believe this would be a great purchase.

FARFETCH Bags – The Weekender

Thom Browne Unstructured Holdall In Tumbled Calf Leather, £1,620

Every wanderer needs a reliable bag to pack their weekend essentials into. Whether it’s a few days back home with the family or jet setting across Europe, this leather holdall is the perfect balance of style and practicality. Leather is a timeless option and is also incredibly versatile in terms of what outfits work with it. The lining of this holdall is a real selling point to me as I love a bit of subtle detail. Not only is this the ideal size for carry-on luggage, this simple yet smart design makes it a great investment for those that enjoy their travels – and travelling is something I am truly passionate about. A couple of outfit changes, a spare pair of shoes and my grooming kit neatly packed away and I am ready for another weekend exploring a new city.

FARFETCH Bags – The Satchel

Prada classic satchel, £1,675

A real classic. A fulltime job requires a bag that can be comfortably thrown across my shoulder on the daily commute to and from work. A bag that allows me to carry all the bits and bobs I might need in those 8-10 hours away from home each day. A bag that can be easily paired with my work brogues and leather belt. A bag that I know won’t let me down, where quality and care is at the forefront of its design. This satchel is exactly that. The colour of this satchel means there is little it won’t go with whilst the style itself gives it practicality and a purpose that would make it a worthy purchase in terms of usage.

The Backpack

Versace ‘Palazzo Medusa’ backpack, £1,521

For those blissful days I get to spend out of the office when I can dress down and explore the city with my camera. This backpack brings casual and class together. Versace’s ability to produce bags that are simple yet striking makes this backpack, in my eyes, a must-have for somebody like me who needs more than just the pockets in my trousers to carry what I need for a day trip. I love the simplicity of this bag; the outstanding feature that is Versace’s famous Medusa embellishment against an otherwise plain design. This is a purchase I know I’d make the most of – as any day I could spend out of the office, this bag would be coming out with me too, a focal point of a more casual outfit.

FARFETCH Bags – The Briefcase

Valentino Brown panther briefcase, £2,395

I believe everybody should own something with that ‘wow’ factor, something you really are proud to wear, something that season-after-season you look at with the same fondness you did when you first purchased it. This bag is a real show-stopper in my eyes. A twist on the classic briefcase, this design by Valentino carries the same practicalities of a briefcase – two large, secure compartments that would easily store both documents and a laptop, along with an extra secure zipped internal pocket – yet has that contemporary stamp on it that really brings it into the 21st century. The monochrome pattern paired with a tan leather gives an overall striking appearance; the discreet studded detail shows just how much time has gone into ensuring this briefcase really does stand out from anything else. The size and style of this bag would allow for a little overlap in its uses- not only for business meetings but perhaps as a work bag or overnight bag – I wouldn’t be able to resist using this briefcase every opportunity I could.
